Reliable Energy Services Supporting Global Operations and Sustainability Goals

Overview

Bites Oil and Gas has formed a partnership for seven onshore Kwanza blocks, with the participating equity shown in the adjacent figure. Each block area is approximately 250,000 acres.

The exploration and development potential of the awarded blocks is currently being evaluated in collaboration with the operating partner for each block.

Exploration of Onshore Kwanza took place during the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, with many reservoirs identified across the entire geological column.

Key mature source rocks are found in pre-salt lacustrine basin and post-salt marine basin,

as shown in the adjacent litho column.

The current focus in our blocks is to identify new traps for the recognized reservoirs and develop them.

Additionally, plans are being implemented to develop and produce from existing oil fields.

KON 2

The Concession (A) is located in the northern portion of the Onshore Basin, covering an area of approximately 1,050 sq.km. Exploration over the past decades has led to three producing discoveries in the Bento, Luanda, and Cacuao fields. The reservoirs are located in the Catumbela, Tuenza, Quissande (Albian) and Cuvo (Presalt) formations, with the prolific Mulenvos South field extending into this block. Hydrocarbons are sourced from the Binga and Presalt formations. Additionally, several wells have been drilled, showing substantial oil indications.

State-of-the-art Gravity-Magnetic surveys were conducted in the southwest portion of the block. A representative gravity map (C) illustrates high and low trends in the area, which will be further explored with the planned 2D seismic acquisition. The key area highlighted on seismic (B) is dominated by Tertiary-age grabens, offering potential sand reservoirs and Presalt Cuvo opportunities. Furthermore, opportunities in the Binga and Catumbela reservoirs have been identified.

KON 4

The concession is located to the south of Luanda, along the coast (A). Early exploration efforts in the block have resulted in significant discoveries, including the major post-salt Tertiary field at Quenguela North and the Binga/Tuenza (Benfica) field. Additionally, notable findings have been made at Puaca and Uacango, both of which hold potential for further development.

Exploration activities in this block began with the initiation of state-of-the-art gravity-magnetic surveys. A key seismic profile (B) is shown, highlighting potential zones for exploration in both the pre-salt and post-salt formations.

KON 9

The concession is located southeast of Luanda (A). Early exploration efforts focused on Albian clastic-carbonate and Binga reservoir intervals, with promising oil shows reported. The seismic data (B) presented for the block indicates potential entrapment around a salt diapir.

This block is currently awaiting operator assignment.

KON 11

The concession is adjacent to KON 4 (A). Several locations were drilled during earlier exploration efforts, leading to the development of two producing fields in the Binga reservoir.

The block has a two-fold objective: the redevelopment of Tobias and Galinda Binga production, along with new prospect exploration. Current efforts are focused on the Tobias field.

A representative seismic (B) for the block highlights potential entrapment zones for both Binga and Catumbela reservoir intervals. Ongoing state-of-the-art gravity-magnetic surveys in the block will improve the understanding of the subsurface structure.

KON 16

The concession is located in the central portion of the Kwanza basin (A), on the southwestern flank of the large Presalt basin. One well, drilled on the flank of a salt diapir during earlier exploration, indicates the presence of oil shows in the Presalt.

The block’s exploration objectives are focused on the Presalt and Post-salt Binga reservoirs, as shown in the seismic data (B). State-of-the-art gravity-magnetic surveys have been conducted in the block to enhance the understanding of the subsurface structure (C). Additionally, new 2D seismic data has been acquired in the block to delineate the prospective zones.

KON 17

The concession is located in the southeastern portion of the Basin (A). Early exploration efforts focused on the Binga and Presalt reservoir intervals, with promising oil shows reported. The seismic data (B) for the block indicates potential entrapment in the Presalt around the Basement ridge, as well as closures in the Binga and above. Additionally, the Tertiary graben has the potential to localize sand reservoirs within the block.

This block is currently awaiting operator assignment.

KON 20

The concession extends to the south of KON 17 (A). Early exploration efforts focused on the Late Cretaceous sand reservoirs. Seismic data (B) for the block indicates a likely potential for entrapment in both the Presalt and Post-salt formations. A contiguous operation with KON 17 is envisioned

This block is currently awaiting operator assignment.
